Camp Idlewild is located in Surry County, Virginia and has been winning the hearts of young people for Christ for the past 50 years, since it was first lovingly carved out of a farm and forest.

It’s not fancy facilities or an idyllic location that makes kids and families love Idlewild.  It’s the tendency of this old camp to foster loving relationships that makes it so special. Those who come as campers or as staff leave filled with joy and enduring memories.

2010 Camp Session

We are excited about this year’s camp session. Our sessions will be:

• – Little Week (K-3rd): 8-10 July
• – Elementary (3rd-6th): 11-17 July
• – Middle School (6th-9th): 18-24 July
• – High School (9th-12th): 25-31 July

Paid Staff Position

Camp Idlewild is looking for one male and one female paid staff member for the 2010 camping season (July 8-31). The duties of the full-time staff will be assigned as needed by the camp directors, and these will generally consist of EITHER serving a cabin counselor for the week or serving as athletic/activities director. Additional duties (such as running the canteen or serving as lifeguard) may be assigned as well. Paid staff members must be dedicated Christians over the age of 19 and must be available for all camping sessions. Paid staffers are expected to be onsite at camp by 3:00 p.m. on the first day of each camping session and should remain through noon on Saturday or until released by the camp director. The salary will be $1000 for the camping season.
