What a whirlwind! Can’t believe we’ve passed the half-way mark. I’ve got pictures from the bb range yesterday, morning Bible class, and last night’s square-dance. Everything was fine until someone requested a Justin Bieber song. That should explain the covered ears below. Tonight was supposed to be “night swim,” but there are storms in the area, so we opted for movie night. Just as well. We could use a rest.

Sorry to be so late in posting something this year. I have to admit that I have more fun participating in all theses activities than being a bystander. That makes it hard to take pictures.

Last night we had our new and improved scavenger hunt, featuring “Amazing Race” style challenges. One was even an eating challenge–baby food. Don’t ever think that your kids are really picky. Some of them, at least, had no problem putting away the mashed peas.

Tonight was our hayride. Another great activity.

There are also pictures of Prison Ball, a volleyball-like game, as well as this morning’s Bible class.

Just testing this out, so I can post pics during elementary week! Our 2011 camping season starts tomorrow! Can’t wait to see everyone. Join me in praying for our summer!

We had a blast. Now it’s all over but the shoutin’. We’ll see you at 10am tomorrow for the closing ceremony: Skits, awards, songs, and a most impressive slide show. See you in the morning.

Movie Night

Your kids have played hard this week. Thursday is for down time. We convert the dining hall into a theater. We make popcorn and sell candy from the canteen. It also gives our hard working counselors a break.

I can’t get these ladies to sit still long enough for a picture. They keep the meals coming: French toast, pizza, spaghetti and tonight’s hamburgers are favorites with the kids. Please thank them when you pick up the kids.

Our Counselors

This is one of the rarest sights you’ll see at Camp Idlewild–counselors enjoying free time. From the time you drop them off on Sunday afternoon, these counselors spend a LOT of time with your kids. They get one hour every day during Bible classes to do their own thing, then it’s back to work. They work hard and have a lot of fun. I’m very thankful for their desire to serve.

We managed to get our hayride finished and everyone back to their cabins before the rains came (too busy to take pictures). Tomorrow night: square dancing. Hopefully we won’t be rained in all day.
